This series will launch you into sewing a tote, a pouch bag plus a flared skirt and how to deconstruct and reconstruct an old T-shirt into a new one. Also learn techniques such as appliqué and how to put on rhinestones. You will learn to sew using top line machines that we sell.
A 45-minute break for lunch every day of the sessions during which you can bring your lunch and eat at our studio if you like.
The first day is the Intro to Sew from 11:00 to 1:30 where you will learn how to use all sewing machines from threading to sewing. You will sew and complete a pouch bag.
In the afternoon from 2:30 to 5:00 you will learn the basics about fabrics and then go on a shopping tour to fabric stores in New York City’s garment center to buy the fabrics for your projects.
Day two from 11:00 to 1:30 you will learn how to cut out patterns and cut out your hipster flared skirt.
In the afternoon from 2:30 to 5:00 you will learn garment industry tips while sewing up the skirt plus make the hem and finish the skirt.
Day three from 11:00 to 1:30 and 2:30 -5:00
Make an awesome tote bag with appliqué and rhinestones.
Day four in the last two sessions from 11:00 to 1:30 and 2:30 -5:00, it’s on to “T”-shirt remake. Bring to class some old T-shirts and or sweatshirts. We will show you how to cut them up into something new you will want to wear again. You will come out of these four sessions with lots of easy bags and clothes you can continue to make on your own.
