You will need sewing tools and fabrics the first day!

You will sew an envelope pillow and a custom fit, elastic waist skirt (men: sew a pull-on pant). We teach garment industry techniques and our classes are small. No other method will get you started sewing as Fast & Easy!

In the 5-sessions, you will learn:
- How to use commercial sewing patterns
- How to thread and use all sewing machines
- Sew up an envelope pillow
- How to layout and cut patterns properly
- How to use 7th Ave. sewing skills
- How to get your own custom fit in your skirt or pant
- How to identify different types of fabric
- Pattern and sewing terms
- Special pressing techniques
- How to mark and sew hems

(Prerequisite: Beginner Sewing Basics or Stitch & Bitch University or similar experience)

Do you love the fit of Prada, Chanel, or Gucci? Yours can be better by starting with a custom pattern made for you by Sew Fast Sew Easy and modifying your custom pattern to create a variety of silhouettes.

You will learn:
- Intermediate fitting techniques
- Dart manipulation
- Insert an invisible zipper
- "Drop in a lining"
- How to attach a straight waistband
- How to attach a quick and easy contour waistband
- Slits and vents
- Professional finishing techniques (hand and machine)

Pattern making techniques include:
- A-line skirt
- Flared skirt
- Hipster skirt

You must be measured for your computer fit pattern IMMEDIATELY! (Please call to make a measurement appointment after you register.)

• Learn to design and make your custom fit dress
• Pattern-making techniques for sleeves & sleeveless dresses
• Learn to set in sleeves and facings garment industry style.
• Pattern making techniques for facings and necklines.
• A quick technique for making a top.

Learn new patternmaking techniques!

Now that you have a fitted basic dress pattern learn some additional patternmaking techniques.

You will learn to patternmake and sew:

- A princess line, empire, wrap, halter and/or a sleeveless sun dress;
- Sleeve variations will also be covered.

Bring to class pictures of styles you want to make.

Upon finishing our Stitch and Bitch University class you will know more than the basics of beginner sewing. We strongly recommend this class.

This 10-week comprehensive course covers professional techniques used in the construction of designer’s first samples for clothing or home décor. Once you complete this, you will know the basics of any sewing machine, cutting, using patterns plus important sewing techniques to execute and your sewing ideas. After this class, you will be comfortable altering clothes, doing your own fittings, making some of your own designs, using commercial patterns, ready for design school.

You start out learning how to sew on any sewing machine and make an envelope pillow, then sew an elastic waist skirt, a tote bag, a stretch knit T-shirt on an overlock machine and another pillow with an invisible zipper.

Plus you get our well-known book and patterns “Sew Fast Sew Easy: All You Need to Know When You Start to Sew.” It’s all included in the price as well as the certificate of completion. (almost 26 hours of learning)
